Hey everyone, these last few weeks have been a whirlwind and kinda unreal if you ask me. We’ve gone from every day normal life to quarantining and social distancing. The uncertainty of the future and when things will return back to normal is stressful but the last thing we want is for the kids to carry this stress. So in our home and like many of you, we have been trying to make the most of this and see it as a opportunity to spend time together and make memories. As a mom of FOUR children we are always coming up with unique ways to keep them occupied, so i figured i’d share with you through blogging the things we do!
First of all the kids miss socializing so this was our idea to get them to have fun and socialize through media! There is a back story to this idea. When we first moved here, Isabella told us she was doing the morning announcements at school. We were so proud of her and when visiting family in Miami she gave us a whole show of how she does the announcements at school! I told her I was gonna thank her teacher and then she said “I was joking, I’m not doing morning announcements!” Now like most parents these days, we are embracing the whole quarantine situation and virtual learning by coping with humor. While we make tons of jokes about the virtual learning, we are actually having fun with it! We came up with a school name “ Hamilton Academy” and our mascot is the “Hurricanes” were kinda original lol .
We decided that we would start our own morning announcement and Isabella would be doing the announcements. This has kept her excited and gives her something to look forward to. She is actually really good at it and enjoys seeing the reactions from our friends and family. The other day , I threw our middle son Christian in the broadcast to humor me and well…it actually turned out super cute and they had a blast! So we continued with the Morning announcements and have added Christian as Bella’s co Anchor. Every day they will share the weather, breakfast and lunch menu, the agenda for the day and a few additional things. I love seeing them laugh and have fun. We are currently all going through something we have never experienced in our life time and laughter and joy has been for us the best way to get through it.
Isabella and Christian hope to inspire other kids to get creative, have fun and have something to look forward to. They would love to answer other kids questions or take their ideas to incorporate on their show or even see kids starting their own morning news segments! If you do start your own morning news segment, don’t forget to share it with us or tag us at copper stops on Instagram or Emerald Grace Photography on Instagram because we would love to see what you all come up with!
